We have been at the forefront of arbitrations in Pakistan for a number of years and regularly advise and represent local as well as international clients in arbitration proceedings under the local arbitration laws as well as the International Chamber of Commerce and International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes framework.

Lawyers from the firm have represented the Government of Pakistan in high profile arbitration proceedings with Karkey Karadeniz Electrikk Uretin A.S. before the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes. We have also recently successfully represented Taisei Corporation before the International Chamber of Commerce in which we defended a multimillion dollar claim and were awarded USD 2 million counter claim. On the domestic front, we have recently successfully represented Arabtec Pakistan in arbitration proceedings pertaining to the construction of the Karachi Financial Towers. We are also currently involved in litigation before the Supreme Court of Pakistan in relation to the Recognition and Enforcement (Arbitration Agreements and Foreign Arbitral Awards) Act, 2011.

In addition to this, our Senior Partner Mr. Zahid Ebrahim has been called upon to serve as an arbitrator in the International Chamber of Commerce and Pakistan law arbitrations. He has served as co-arbitrator with former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court as well as leading Queen’s Counsel and along with Ms. Shabnam Noorali, authored the Pakistani chapter on the Arbitration.

Lahore based Senior Partner Mr. Ahmad Hosain has represented Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in binding and non-binding Expert Determination proceedings. The binding Expert Determination proceedings resulted in an award of more than $ 10 Million in favour of our client. Mr. Hosain has recently also represented SNGPL in arbitration proceedings being conducted in accordance with the Rules of London Court of International Arbitration.
